Kool-Aid Playdough

Winter time is pretty much torture for a stay-at-home mom with two toddlers who live to be outside playing all day long. Luckily, I've come up with some fun activities on gloomy days to keep them a little happier. One of our favorites is Kool-Aid Playdough! I remember my mom making this for my siblings & I when we were young. It always smelled so good, was crazy soft & pliable, and best of all, it stayed good forever.

The recipe is simple, so no excuses NOT to make your own playdough :)

Kool-Aid Playdough Recipe

2 1/2 C. Flour

1/2 C. Salt

2 small pkg. unsweetened Kool-Aid

3 T. oil {I used olive oil}

2 C. boiling water {fill a pot with water, get it boiling THEN measure out two cups... I just poured the boiling water into a 2 C. liquid measuring bowl}
mix up your dry ingredients- flour, salt & kool-aid :)

Boil your pot of water. Once boiling, pour {carefully!} into a two C. measuring bowl & add to your dry ingredients. Add oil.

Stir quickly and mix well. When it's cool enough for you to touch, mix/knead with your hands. Make sure to store in an air tight container. I personally just use a gallon sized ziploc bag and I make sure to squeeze all the air out. We still play with this batch almost 4 months later!
