Tiergarten

On Saturday we headed to the zoo in Nuremberg.

It had been many years since Nathan or I had been to a zoo so we were excited for this opportunity & we were excited to see the kids' reactions to all the animals.

We were there for 3 hours & only saw a small part of the zoo. We can't wait to go back soon to see the rest.

We got there just a few minutes after 8am, which is opening time. So it was really quiet, serene & just great! When we left, we were walking out the gates right as hoards of people were coming in. Early is definitely the way to go!

LOUD monkeys! the kids were not fans of them at all....

No joke, John started screaming so loud that he made all the monkeys run away haha!

Not many animals in the rainforest, but this guy was just dying to have his photo taken lol.

Yeah, we forgot his shoes in the car. Don't judge.

John loved it in this viewing room.

Dolphins-- they didn't ever come up to the glass so it was hard to get
a picture. I only had my 40mm with me.

All the fish were drawn to John haha. As were many of the animals we saw through out the day.

the fish whisperer

Ellie was getting brave! Unfortunately Nathan forgot to throw the handle for the stroller into the Jeep haha
We had to rent a wagon. 24 Euros!

I love flamingos!

He loves to push anything with wheels.
When we go grocery shopping he's always right there helping me push the cart.
Same with the stroller when we go on walks.

Every time Ellie stood up, I'd say her name.
And every time, she'd look down & say "no mama"
STINKER!

HOORAY! He looked AND SMILED! No spitting, or tongue sticking out ha!

For you my dear sister, Rachel :)
They were rude! lol

When we were trying to find where the kids zoo was {the petting zoo}, we stumbled across this awesome playground! Yes the slides at playgrounds are generally all this tall! Some even taller!

So happy that her bubba gave her some pinecones
{he literally picked up almost every single one he came across}

Such a goof! Love her to the moon & back!

Such an impy face!

Not so sure about this....

Daddy to the rescue!

Gotta love the drop, pick up game :-/

Such a little turd! He was popping his head up & as soon as I got on my tippy toes, he slides down

The Petting Zoo

Miss Ellie just loved the rabbits

Yes, the animal whisperer strikes again lol

Ellie was more than okay with viewing from the wagon.
She wasn't a fan of their noses

John had fun finding twigs & leaves to feed to the pigs

He seriously loved them ha. We couldn't tear him away!

Nathan called this little cutie over!

I wanted to take it home. So, so precious!

John was spitting lol

He/She? was so cute! Nathan had to tear me away. I want horses so bad!

This kids has the magic touch or smell or something! All the animals walked right up to him & were very gentle

I was kind of appalled that Nathan let him in to the goat pen since John was shoeless.
Boys will be boys I suppose. He got a really good bath later on when we were home.

He was in his element lol
I guess we will have a small farm to keep John entertained & busy all day ;)

Poor goats lol

He just couldn't escape John fast enough!

After I snapped this photo I could totally see it in b+w, but on the computer I LOVED the color edit too
which one?

Yes again, John called the horses over. So they all looked & walked on over!

And that was 2 hours into our trip. I forgot to charge my battery {man I need a battery grip lol} & my camera died after this photo. Which was okay actually. Because the kids were grouchy & ready to get going. Too bad we walked around for another hour trying to find our way out. We followed the signs but it led us to the side exit which was wayyyy on the other side of where we parked. We saw Lions, Giraffes, Anteaters, Bobcats etc on our way to the car. We'll definitely be going back soon!
