Today was a really great day! We were out the door by 8am to go get some breakfast since we had nothing in the house to eat. After breakfast we went shopping at two German stores for swimming suits for the kids. The first place we went to was Phillips, but they didn't open for another half hour. Since we didn't feel like waiting, we drove over to the Rewe Kinderland.
This store was incredible! Seriously, I loved all the toys!! haha We now have a list of things to get for the kids before going back to America. They just don't make toys like these back home. We were able to get John a pair of swimming trunks there, some spandex-y "Planes" with Dusty Crophopper. He was pretty thrilled. They only had bikinis for girls so we headed back over to Phillips & found Ellie an adorable little suit & a sunhat since she is lacking in the hair department :)
After our little shopping spree for the kids, we drove to base to go to the PX for the boys. They needed haircuts pretty badly. After that we walked over to the commissary & went grocery shopping for the rest of the month. Nathan & I are going to do a 10 day cleanse that we found on Dr. Oz's website. I'm pretty excited! I've never eaten chia seeds or hemp seeds so this'll be interesting.
Shortly after getting in the car from shopping, I felt like there was either a bug in my hair or that the Jeep's AC was blowing my hair too much so I rant my hand back over my hair to get it out of my face. I then felt something fuzzy in-between my middle & ring fingers. So I shook my hand & got stung TWICE by the same bee. This was my first time being stung by anything so I was pretty shocked. I screamed from surprise lol. Nathan pulled over to get the stinger out for me & to trace around the swelling. Since I had never been stung before I had no idea if I was allergic to them or not. {I'm not fyi :)}
Ellie was exhausted by the time we arrived at home, so she had a diaper change, a drink & went to sleep for about 3 hours. When she woke up we loaded the kids up to go to our little town's freibad-aka- swimming pool! We had absolutely no idea we had one in town. I guess a lot of Americans don't, but I found out through a friend from church.
It is the perfect pool. It's nestled on the top of the hill, surround by hedges, and trees. It's so great, seriously, we will be there almost every day this summer. The best part is that kids under 6 are free! And adults are just 3.50 euro.
We only stayed about an hour or so because it was a little chilly {74F} & Ellie was shivering. Our kids loved, LOVED the pool though! Ellie was quite a fish. She was all over that baby pool & really enjoyed the big pool too. John is a water slide lover {no surprise there} & had a great time exploring everything there was there.

thank you very much PX for not having a reasonable selection for swimming suits for ladies. also, if you're anything but a size 12 you're outta luck. oh well- its probably better for everyone that i covered up in shorts & a shirt as to not blind anyone with my intense white color ;) |
Well thats all for today. Tomorrow we are heading to Nuremberg to go to the zoo for the day :) More pictures to come of that later....
:)
