Double Stroller Dilemma

Ever since Nathan & I decided on having a second baby, I have been researching different double strollers. When this baby is born John will be almost 15 months old.... definitely still needing a stroller when we're out & about.

I had my heart set on getting a BOB jogging stroller. They're basically creme de la crop as far as strollers go & I have never heard one bad word about them. They are a pretty penny though. It's important for Nathan & I to have a jogging stroller so that we can take the kids out on little jogs & around town in Germany (where a lot of roads are brick & cobblestone).

This is originally why I fell in love with the all terrain BOB. But, after doing some more digging on different strollers I believe I have settled on a different one, though just as awesome, and maybe even more flexible. I still need to go test it out at a store in KC before diving all in on it, but I'm excited to have that dilemma solved.

The stroller is the Bumbleride 2012 Indie Twin Stroller. I read for hours different forums comparing the all terrain BOB with this Bumbleride, and while this isn't all terrain, it is a jogging stroller. The front wheels will lock in place when you need it to be used as a jogging stroller as well as swivel for when you're at the mall or any other place where you might need to maneuver around tight spaces. It also fits through all standard doors! This is important for me since it's side by side & not a tandem. It also has a Chicco Keyfit30 adapter for the infant car seat that we have (also has adapters for a Graco & Maxi-Cosi). It collapses too. The BOB didn't & lot of reviews said that was a pain for toting it around places. The shades, backrests & footrests are separate so they can be in different positions,  unlike the BOB & many other brands that I looked into. 5- Point harness system is obviously important & much needed, especially with Nathan's need for speed ;-) There's also a jogging strap, large storage basket (sooo needed) & a storage handle (also very handy). And, in addition, it comes in many color combos. I know this is insignificant when choosing strollers/car seats but it's something I think it fun & makes your gear unique. Theres a ton more, but those are the points that sold me the most.

If I like how it pushes/is in person, I'm ordering off of www.babyviva.com. This is where we ordered John's Britax convertible carseat & got about 30% off with FREE shipping. Seriously, you won't find a better site price wise. It also came in the amount of time it said it would, which is a huge plus! I highly recommend this site to everyone!

  1. I will have to remember this! Since our #2 will be a summer baby and I just found a moby wrap for cheap (i've never had a baby wrap before!), I'm going to try to wear him/her around for the summer. Then maybe the next spring we'll buy a double? We'll see. But that's only one plan and it may not work out at all, ya know? I'll have to refer back to your super helpful blog post as a reference!! Thanks so much!! We have a KeyFit 30 also and I'm so glad it has an adapter!

  2. Yes, its always good to have a back up plan. My aunt gave me her moby for John & he HATED it. I mean, hated it with a passion. ugh lol. Every baby is different though; hopefully your little one won't be as picky as my John is!
