John Anthony: 7 Month Update

On Wednesday, October 17th, John turned 7 months old! NUTS!!! We have a 7 month old; it's so weird to think of!

John has really grown a lot over the past month. Yesterday, I took him to the pediatrician's office for his flu booster shot but he didn't get weighed or measured like I thought he would. I measured him at home today & he is 26 inches... a .75 inch increase in the past month. I am positive, though that he is 20+ lbs.

John Tidbits
--He wears 12 month clothes; the pants are always too long (thats what happens when you're in the 23rd percentile for height! lol)

--Has decided that he doesn't like vegetables anymore. I always have to mix the vegetables with fruit or yogurt.

--He's a yogurt fanatic.

--A complete busy-body; always trying to jump out of our arms to see what is going on around him.

--Loves chewing on his stuffed animal puppy that has "taggies" all over it.
--Takes 2-3 naps a day; usually about 1.5-2 hours long.

--Goes to bed around 8pm & usually sleeps very well now-thank you Ferber Method!

--Loves to pound on the piano & listen to it being played.

--Sits up very well on his own; starting to try to get out of the sitting position without help.

--He's starting to lift himself up on his hands & knees; gets really excited when he does!

--When he gets mad he rolls his tongue in a really fast trill; SO FUNNY.

--Wakes up happy.

--Absolutely adores his grandpa! Loves eating breakfast with him in the mornings & talking to him on the phone at lunch time.

--Loves skyping with daddy! Always puts on a good show :-)

--John thinks it's hilarious to pull my glasses off my face.

--He pants like a puppy when he gets excited.

--Starting to mimic things we say; especially animals noises. His favorite is to roar like a lion, tiger & dinosaur.

--Still loves the outdoors, going to the store, picking leaves off the trees & his country music; specifically Jason Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem"

--Behaves (usually!) in church now. I didn't have to take him out at all during Sacrament Meeting last week!

--Laughs when pulling mine & Rachel's hair (I'm sure he'll love teasing future sisters)

--LOVES to play games; peek-a-boo & other crazy games that we make up just to hear him laugh hysterically

John fills our life with so many laughs & such joy. I was just thinking the other morning about part of his baby blessing. He was blessed with being a beacon of light in the lives of his friends & of his family & that all those who associated with him would feel his warmth. I've certainly found this to be true in his 7 short months of life! I am so grateful that he is my son & am thankful for the many lessons he teaches me in a day! Life is precious & goes so fast. By having John I'm learning to cherish the little  moments & love every part of the journey... you don't get any of those moments back! We love you, John!
