Adobe Lightroom 4

Let me start out by saying, I am absolutely no photographer!! Do I enjoy taking photos? Yes. Has my curiosity increased? Yes, especially since having John. I just want to capture every moment. But, I by no means pretend to be good at snapping photos lol. I experiment & get lucky sometimes when a shot comes out half way decent, but that's about all the "work" that goes into my images. I've never even taken a class on photography so I really have no clue what I'm doing.

Anyway, I realized today that my MacBook Pro has an App store... I know, I'm a little behind the times. So I was searching for a photo editing app because iPhoto keeps crashing for some reason. I was getting pretty annoyed after I imported the typical monthly photos of John.... he really didn't cooperate today so I needed to edit a lot of stuff. So, after iPhoto seriously crashed every two minutes I went searching & stumbled across Adobe Lightroom 4. It's $149.99. WOW. That's a lot of money for an app in my opinion. I quickly googled it & found out that a lot of people really like it; ranging from professionals to amateurs. I also learned that there's a free month-long download trial package. So I figured why not.

I LOVE IT!

I had no clue what a lot of the controls mean, but by experimenting I believe I've figured a good deal out. It actually makes my photos from my Canon Powershot SX260 HS look great! Hopefully I can convince Nathan that I need to buy this app when my trial period is up :)

Here are the before & after photos of the two that I edited... not too shabby for not knowing what the heck I'm doing! (at least I think so)
Before Adobe Lightroom 4 (I had previously enhanced the color with iPhoto)

After! I think adding the watermark is fun... when I have more time I'm going to try to figure out how to edit out the strands of hair down the middle of my face.

Before.... this was after A LOT of editing in iPhoto...

and after...
Like I said, I'm by no means a professional...if there's a level below amateur, that would be me! I have no clue if the coloring is proper, or even, or any of that business. But, I do think that maybe the second photos look nicer? Anyway, just wanted to share my fun :-)
