Baby Bump #2 Update--- 10 Weeks

Baby Bump #2 Update

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

1. How Far Along? 10 weeks & 4 days

2. Due Date? May 26, 2013 according to my calculations. We'll see what the ultrasound reveals growth wise.

3. Do you know the gender? Hopefully at 17 weeks. This pregnancy has been much more intense than my last one. Sweet things, fruit included, makes me super sick. Complete opposite of how I was with John. I would, of course, LOVE to have a baby girl; I've been dying to buy little girl clothes since I was pregnant with John, but since this baby & John will be so close in age (just under 15 months), I kind of want another boy for John. I want them to grow up being buddies. Plus, they will be in the same season as far as clothes go so that would be nice to already have all the infant clothes! Also, John's nursery in Germany is a very boyish Safari theme... if it were a girl I'd have to find a way to make it gender neutral!

4. Size of the baby? About the size of a PRUNE or a KUMQUAT! (How Big is Baby?)

5. Total weight gain? Down about 7 lbs from getting sick.

6. Maternity Clothes? No on shirts. I did bust out a maternity skirt & pants this past Sunday. They're too big still but they're much more comfy than my regular jeans; even with the belly band. I've been holding up the maternity bottoms with the belly band so it works.

7. Any stretch marks? No.

8. How's the sleep? Pretty good when I do sleep. I've been sleeping hard & having CRAZY preggo dreams.

9. Best moment this week? Getting a blessing last night. Even with taking Zofran, Phenergan & Zantac (antacids are supposed to help, apparently) I have been super, crazy sick. Nothing was staying down; water, juice, food (brat diet included!), broth, nothing. Every time I'd get up to take care of John I'd have to run to the bathroom first. I've felt much better since the blessing & have had a huge sense of peace too. I had been freaking out that I was so sick because of a miscarriage. NO, I haven't had any reason to believe I'd be having a miscarriage (no bleeding, excessive cramping, etc). I had read online that a lot of times in the beginning stages of pregnancy, that if a baby passes away & the mother's body doesn't start the miscarriage process quick enough, the no longer living baby will become toxic to the mother causing such horrendous sickness as I had been having. I was assured in my blessing that my health would return & that I'd be able to provide my baby with all the nutrients it would need to grow & be healthy & that my pregnancy would be healthy. I am so grateful for Priesthood blessings! I so thankful for a father who honors his Priesthood & is readily available to serve & use his Priesthood when asked. He truly is a righteous man of God; always putting the Lord's will before his own.

10. Missing anything? Nathan & my energy. Not having to eat Prunes (thank you, Zofran :-/)

11. Baby Movements? Nope.

12. Any cravings? No, most things seem absolutely disgusting to me still.

13. What makes you sick or queasy? What doesn't make me sick or queasy would be a better question! John's formula really does me in. I can't stand looking at it, smelling it, or anything at all with it. Meat is a no go, garlic & anything sweet.

14. What pregnancy symptoms are there? Uterine twitches, bloating, some cramping, fatigue all day, MOOD SWINGS, forgetfulness, heartburn, acne- its really bad this week!, very stuffy/bloody nose, nausea, vomiting & pregnancy rash (PUPPS). I had PUPPS with John; a very mild case thankfully. It never caused me any pain or burning like a lot of women can get with PUPPS, just itching occasionally. I noticed it coming back the other morning in the shower on my legs & arms; small redish/purpley dots with the skin surround them being a little red.

15. Any labor signs? No.

16. Can you still wear your wedding rings? Yeah, that never was a huge issue with me last time either, thankfully! If anything they're lose now from losing weight & being so darn cold all the time.

17. Your mood is...? Hopeful after my blessing. And anxious for my appointment on MONDAY!

18. Looking forward to? BEING WITH MY HUSBAND!!!!!! (3 weeks exactly & he'll be here!) My first OB appointment--- NOVEMBER 5TH. Hearing the baby's heartbeat & getting that first ultrasound picture :-) And finally announcing that I'm pregnant! No joke, in the last 6 weeks, close to 20 friends have announced their pregnancies. It has been insanely hard not to say something & make it public! I have a really cute way of announcing it ( at least I think so lol. ) after my appointment on Monday.
