There is
nothing cuter than little baby shoes!!! I am a shoe addict and my addiction has now expanded to shopping for shoes for John too. In fact, I think it's even more fun than shopping for myself! Well, a couple days ago I made my what seems to be, weekly run to Babies R Us for odds and ends and saw some shoes that I just couldn't resist!! They worked
perfectly with his outfit that he wore to church today :)

Love his little shoes!

He was difficult to photograph today. This is the best I could get of his total church get-up.

I also found these
adorable little nightgowns. I know, you think girl when you hear night gown but they're not frilly in any way and they were in the boys section haha. They are awesome for the middle of the night because they're super long and there's no annoying buttons or zippers to mess with when you can barely keep your eyes open at 3am. I bought a 2 pack for $10 which I thought was a great price for Carter's. These little nightgowns are also great now that it's really getting hot out. John tends to sweat a lot and the past couple nights it hasn't been near as bad as when he was wearing his sleepers with zippers and snaps.

"Um, excuse me mom, it's 2:30am and I'd like my diaper changed and fed before you take a ridiculous amount of pictures of me, thanks."

So, tomorrow will not be a good day. Tuesday and possibly Wednesday won't be good days either because John has his 2 month shots tomorrow morning :( I know that he needs them obviously, but I don't want him to get them because I know it'll hurt him and make him feel really crummy. I wish I could get the shots for him but unfortunately it just doesn't work that way. He will have 3 shots and an oral medication for polio I believe it is. They do 2 shots at once then the 3rd right after. His poor little thighs... I'm going to give him a dose of Tylenol about an hour before the appointment so that there's some block of pain right away. It just figures that as soon as he starts getting in a routine, sleeping well & being happy that something had to ruin it all.
Tomorrow I will also be sending off the first couple of care packages for Nathan! There's two of them because we were told at first that we couldn't send food to the soldiers because of rats coming into the tents. Then because the rats are in the tents, the COBRAS come in for the rats!!! EEK! However, they have thankfully rethought the whole no food thing and the soldiers can now receive food from home and keep it at work. So, the first package is a whole bunch of hygiene stuff along with a pillow and a couple of sheet sets. I guess they have an extreme shortage of twin sized sheet sets so if anyone would like to send sheets to the soldiers, please let me know & I will get the address to you! I'll be sure to send pictures of the "fun" box that I put together. It'll be pretty awesome :)
Three days ago when Nathan & I were talking, he was telling me about our landlord back in Germany apparently giving our friend who has a POA over our house and Jeep, a really hard time for being "in charge" of the place while we're gone. So much so that he told our friend that he had 9 days to "fix the situation"- whatever that means! I guess it came down to the fact that his last name wasn't "Miller". Um, seriously?! He has a POA so as far as he should be concerned he is a Miller! I was so stressed out because if we had to move, WE would have to pay for our things to be moved as well as the storage, not the Army. I was also told that I would have to fly back to Germany to fix the situation even though our friend is legally responsible and given the right to take care of all of that. After a lot of tears and a lot of prayer, the landlord suddenly changed his mind and all is well. THANK GOODNESS! I know that the landlord's change of mind wasn't just out of the blue. Hallelujah for answered prayers! That was some stress that I just did not need to deal with and now it's just a lifted burden.
Now for some random pictures :)

cuuute!!!
ReplyDeleteWarm baths are miracles after shots...rub his legs if he'll letcha, especially in the bath, it helps break up the swelling and they get over it faster. Who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and have a baby who doesn't mind shots at all! I was also told by our pediatrician that most babies love the oral one...it's nice and cold and they flavor it to taste nice.
We LOVED those nightgowns! They really are the best, and we bought very gender neutral ones and have packed them away in our "gender neutral box" for future kiddos :o)
