Our sweet little Gracie Jane turned 4 months old yesterday, Sunday, the 24th! Has it really been that long?
Today she had her well-baby appointment.
She weighs 12 pounds, 6 ounces
Short and cute at 23 inches long.
At her 2 month well-baby appointment her growth curve was the 33rd percentile for weight, and the 19th percentile for length.... this time her curve slowed down, and she's now in the 23rd percentile for weight and the 10th for length. Her little noggin did jump up two percent, she was in the 4th percentile, and is now in the 6th.
Her pedi asked if anything was different. I said that I had started working out and counting my calories. She asked how many calories, and I said approximately 2040. I had tried 1800, but had a huge dip in supply and was STARVING all day, so I did some research and upped it. This along with Gracelyn suddenly being super crabby and waking up a few times a night, makes the pedi think that the quality of my milk has gone down... she's nursing more to get the calories she needs. So, she told me to stop counting calories and just eat nutrient dense foods until I'm full. She also asked about stressors, so I was honest with her about our current situation {Nathan loosing his job in April, etc.}. She told me to relax with a beer haha. I explained that we are a dry household, but that I'll work on making me time to relax more.
Anyways- not the best appointment, but not horrible either. I feel terrible that I've been affecting my milk supply/quality negatively without realizing it.
Gracelyn is...
* smiling, belly laughing, and "talking"
* playing with little toys; her unicorn and butterfly are her favorite
* sucking her thumb
* loving watching John & Ellie play
* loving when mom or dad walk into the room
* enjoying sitting in her chair and watching mom clean
* almost rolling over {her shoulder gets in the way still}
* wearing 0-3 month clothes still
* still a tummy time hater
* still a blue-eyed little sweetie
* a lover of bath time {usually}
Every day I'm just SO thankful she's part of our family. I can't believe I almost wrote off the promptings I had last April to have another baby. She is the light in the middle of a "dark" trying time in our lives. She truly is our rainbow of hope & I just love her to pieces!

I think she looks so much like John in the black and white one! Her coloring seems more like Ellie, but once you just look at her face shape and everything, she looks like her big brother. You certainly make cute ones Amber!
