Sunday Afternoons

Sunday afternoons are so relaxing. They're always one of my favorite parts of the week.

Our ward meets at 9:30 for church, which means that we end at 12:30pm, just in time to go home, feed the kids & nap. They usually will sleep for a few hours which is so nice.

They have been playing so great together lately. I just love it!

she's pretty proud of herself for being able to get on John's bed without any help

bed head!

I'm just dying for her hair to get long enough for me to do a pony with or SOMETHING other than clipping her bangs back

haha she did not appreciate me trying to fix her bed head

Tantrums... very low key this time. I wish I could get him to stop grabbing his face like that when he gets upset. Sometimes he scratches his skin off.

p.s. her poor little nose is fine now. John was trying to tickle her or wrestle or something & got her pretty good. We are constantly having to tell him that Ellie doesn't play quite as hard as daddy does ;)

Since its been such great weather the past few weeks, we have been grilling out pretty much every night for dinner. We used to just have this little charcoal grill that Nathan had to squat down to use lol. He's had his eye on a certain grill at the PX for over a year, but when we went to get it for him for Father's Day they didn't have it anymore. So, we got a different one that he still enjoys using. This one was only $99, so much cheaper than the other one. He thinks he wants to sell this one before we leave this Fall because he has plans to build a grill with brick I think he said. It sounds neat to me, so we'll see :)

slow & low for some ribs. yum, yum!

Nathan made his own dry rub. I don't remember everything he put in it but it had bite & was so flavorful!
The BBQ sauce was just the original Sweet Baby Ray's brand. One of my favorite store-bought brands.
I wish they carried the Raspberry Chipotle flavor here; its so delicious!

Everything was so good. We had some grilled corn on the cob & baked potatoes
with a huge fruit salad full of strawberries, raspberries, apple, blueberries, kiwi
and pomegranate.

Little Miss Ellie here ate half a rack of ribs! She LOVED them!

I really wish I wouldn't have opened the aperture wide up so that I could've gotten her whole face in focus instead of just her mouth & hands lol.

John refused to eat the ribs. He is so funny like that sometimes.

She got herself messy EVERYWHERE! Even her little feet.

haha perfectly timed.

Her upper teeth! She has 4 now, she only had 3 then.

This girl was crazy! We are always laughing at the things she does when she eats.

After Ellie's feast, she desperately needed a bath. John decided to join in on the fun too.

What a little turd. I asked him to give me a big smile so he closed his eyes lol.

who knew that the drain stop would become the favorite bath toy?
not me....

Ellie has become a wild woman in the water this summer! Ever since we went swimming for the first time at the pool, she's carried over her craziness in the tub. She was crackin us up, that's for sure.

Yes, Ellie is trying to drink the water as it slides down the tub, while John is busy guzzling it straight from the faucet.

she was pretty happy to figure out how to turn off the water.

Just goofing around

He was trying to decide if he should pee in the tub or not.
boys.

Ellie's little hand

Well, I started the Cushing's testing this week. I'll write a post about that a little bit later. I just wanted to say thank you to all those who have expressed kind words & prayers. It means more to me than you'll ever realize; so thank you!
