Cheers to Insomnia

You'd think that since John has been waking up every couple hours through out the night again because of his darn teeth that are just barely poking through his gums, I'd be exhausted & able to fall asleep. That's not the case I guess! How annoying... well here's a little mini update about what life has been like since Nathan has been home for his 2 week R&R.

Friday

• Nathan was able to get an early flight in, thank goodness!!! His original flight wasn't supposed to land until 11:30pm in KC. He was able to get an earlier flight & was supposed to land at 7:10pm. His flight was early & landed at 6:52pm. We were still 30-ish minutes away because some semi driver didn't pull his truck off to the shoulder so traffic (rush hour, KC & Labor Day weekend!!!) had to go around him. We were basically at a stand still for 40 minutes, so we were late!!! OF COURSE! [since we were so late I forgot to take pictures of Nathan & John seeing each other in person for the first time in 4 months.]
• John screamed in the airport when I handed him to Nathan & for a solid hour of the hour & 10 minute drive back home. I felt terrible for Nathan... John is starting to get little waves of stranger danger.

Saturday

• John warmed right up to Nathan that morning & there haven't been any problems since!
• We went on a family walk in the morning :-)
• Had a lazy day... just lots of time together as our little family of 3.

Sunday

• Went to church & BBQ'd afterwards... YUM!
• Skyped with my grandparents.

Monday

• Started the morning off with a walk. 
• Nathan attempted to feed John his food.... it didn't work out so well lol. He was much better entertainment for John though while I fed him instead.
• Ordered John a convertible car seat. 
• Family time with everyone

Tuesday

• Nathan & John went on a walk while I slept for an extra hour. John was up so much that I had a pounding headache so Nathan told me to get some extra rest. SO NICE! I will miss that for sure!
• I had a session with my personal trainer.
• Trip to Walmart. Nathan had way too much fun pushing John around in his stroller. They had a fun time looking at rifles & car stuff while mom & I did all the grocery shopping.
• Grandma watched John while Nathan & I went out to lunch for some us time. 
• Shopped at Target & Dillons.
• Nathan watched John while I went up to church for a meeting; good father/son bonding time :-)
• John only woke us up twice :-)

Wednesday 

• 
• Usual morning walk.
• Nathan played with John most of the day while I made baby food. It was so nice to get it all done without having to stop & entertain John.
• John starting rolling around on the floor going after his toys for the first time! I'm convinced he was waiting for Nathan to be here to see him :-)

Thursday

• Morning walk
• Nathan, John & I went out, just us 3, to eat a late lunch/early dinner. John was so well behaved. No crying or anything! He sat in his infant carrier for a good little while. When he got tired of that I sat him on the booth seat right next me & he played in the diaper bag lol. 
• Spent the evening playing with John & enjoying one another's company.

It's been a pretty low-key week. Tomorrow we're going to go to the zoo since the weather will be so nice! I think John will love being pushed around in his stroller while having so many new things to look at. I'm looking forward to it! Then this weekend we're celebrating Nathan's birthday in KC. And next week is when we're visiting friends & family & getting pictures done. Hooray, hooray!
