I can't believe my sweet little baby is 4 months old today! It really does seem like just last week I was pregnant, waddling around on my swollen legs & feet, holding my very pregnant belly with, of course, swollen arms & hands.

| [March 15, 2012] 38 weeks & 2 days. The day before going into labor with John; 2 days before he was born. |
I took John to the breastfeeding clinic today because there hasn't been improvement with his eating. He just screams! It's so heartbreaking. Anyway, it was nice to be validated by the lactation consultant that YES, this is in fact, his Acid Reflux, not just him being colicky, and YES I am doing absolutely everything I can to make eating as painless for him as possible. She is even going to call the pediatrician & tell him about our appointment today & that John truly is in agony when he eats. The pediatrician just upped his dose of Prevacid to the max yesterday afternoon; 30mg a day. So hopefully that takes care of it... I don't know what I will do if it doesn't. It's incredibly emotionally draining to know that every time I sit down to feed John it will take an hour of him screaming before he either wears himself out or just suffers & eats; yesterday he went 12 hours without really eating. Just a few sucks here & there. I'm really praying hard that I see some improvement over the next few days because, of course, Friday he gets his 4 month shots :-/
At the breastfeeding clinic, they always weigh your baby before they eat. You strip them down to a clean diaper; they zero out the scale based on the size diaper so it's super accurate. John weighed in before eating at 15 lbs 7.6oz!! So he is doing great weight wise; he is getting enough nutrition which is a relief!
John's Monthly Stat's:
Birth: 6 lbs 15.9 oz
1 Month: 10 lbs 0 oz
2 Months: 13 lbs 0 oz
3 Months: 14 lbs 0 oz
4 Months: 15 lbs 7.6 oz

Nathan & I are truly blessed to have such a happy, sweet, smart, loving, healthy little boy! Being a mom is hard work but there is nothing else I'd rather be doing day after day. It's so rewarding & fulfilling; I just love it! This is what I was meant to do.
