Today was my birthday! That's not why I'm excited though lol. I'm excited because this is just one more event that I get to cross off the list until Nathan comes back :D Counting down by events makes the time go by faster for me.
I had a pretty fun, laid back day with my family. Mom, Rachel, John & I had lunch at Olive Garden- YUM. Then my visiting teachers came over for a visit & brought a super awesome little gift basket with candles, body spray and home made bath salts & a balloon (which John LOVED staring at... its what kept him occupied while we ate dinner & cake & ice cream!). Mom made a great dinner; peppercorn beef tenderloin, sugar snap peas, a big fruit salad consisting of pineapple, cantaloupe, honey dew melon, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries & blueberries, salad & that's all I can remember right now. Dessert was the best part though! Mom made homemade vanilla ice cream & then the cake was absolutely killer, made by the wonderful Minnie Myers- a 4 layer chocolate cake with a raspberry filling between each layer... topped with chocolate icing, fresh raspberries & blackberries & chocolate dipped strawberries. And Piourettes(sp?) lined the perimeter of the cake. So delicious. I'll seriously have to spend the entire day at the gym to burn off all the calories I ate today, but I guess it's alright since it's just one day.

Anyways, I've just been relaxing with John tonight. He's been a happy little boy for most of the day which is the B-E-S-T birthday present I could've asked for :)... well that's not entirely true. Nathan called tonight which WAS the
best birthday present I received today.
Exercising at the gym is going very well! I'm having a great time working with the trainer. She's not a drill sergeant but she knows what to say to make me not want to quit. AND she's 23 weeks pregnant so she gets where I'm coming from. I've been doing 45 minutes of cardio, ab exercises, weights, squats, lunges, the whole deal. I've always hated doing weights. I'd rather just run or do the elliptical. I'm starting to enjoy it a little more though now that I'm really learning how to do them correctly. I'm hoping to lose half of what I want by September because that's when Nathan is going to try to come home for his R&R... the trainer said that was very doable so that's encouraging. I guess we'll see what happens. I have a size in mind too just because I know that since I am doing weights I will be gaining muscle weight. It's all very exciting. I'm feeling productive & just over all happier with myself. It's great having the opportunity to leave the house once a day without a baby. I've learned that "Me Time" is really important to my sanity. I love John more than words can say but I do love my time at the gym where I don't have to worry about if he's okay. I know he's with grandma & safe so I'm able to relax & focus on me & sort out my thoughts.
