11 Weeks

I can't believe John is 11 weeks old today & at the same time I can't remember what life was like without him. He has grown so much since he was born- almost doubled his birth weight! He was 6lbs 15.9oz & 20 inches long when he was born. A couple weeks ago when he had his shots he was 13 lbs & 23 1/4 inches long. CRAZY. Last week I had to pack up his newborn clothes so that I had enough space in the closet to hang up all his clothes... it was a little sad!

Yesterday was a trying day for me. John was unhappy almost the entire day. Not cranky colicky behavior more of a I-don't-feel-good kind of unhappy. I was really worried before I had John that I wouldn't know what he needed; I wouldn't know what his cries meant. But luckily that handy mother's intuition kicked in as soon as I saw him so I noticed that his cry was different yesterday. It sounded like he was in pain. So, I gave him Tylenol (which he didn't spit out this time-woohoo!) and he was able to take a decent nap & have a good night too. I really hope he's not in the very beginning stages of teething. He always chews on his fists, which he just started doing about a week ago & is cranky. I'm really nervous about breastfeeding a baby with teeth- I know, dumb but I stress about everything until I actually do it. He seems a little young to be teething so maybe it was some growing pains. I know that at around 3 months old babies go through another "big" growth spurt so who knows. He seems to be better today- really sleepy but at least he's eating well & isn't screaming.

Hanging out in his little lamb. BEST INVENTION EVER!
Going to go invest in the matching swing since the one we have now
does not like to work.

LISTEN TO ME! :)

Wore himself out

Finally being happy yesterday night!

This adorable little face is what I live for

Love his chubby cheeks & deep blue eyes!

All ready to mail off daddy's care package! YAY :)
