Carseat Canopy

Well here are a couple pictures of the carseat canopy that I made for John! The top is a patchwork design and the bottom is minky fabric. Then the straps are made out of the cuffs of Nathan's old Army uniform that he wore in Korea- the greens are darker and the design is more camo than the current digi print camo- so it matches the greens in the top fabrics. Look at me being all resourceful :) Pictures of the quilt will be coming soon! Satin is a pain in the butt to sew especially when you're sewing it to three different kinds of fabric. So that is the delay. It's not quite finished- I'm learning here!
The plus side of using the cuffs to Nathan's old uniform was that the buttons and button holes were already made :)

The underside. The nice thing is that now I don't have to carry around John's blanket with me when we run errands. This can easily be unbuttoned and serve as a blanket until we get out of the car etc.
