Ramstein AFB & Other Ramblings

Nathan & I have been talking for a couple weeks now about going up to Ramstein AFB one of these Saturdays because it's HUGE & there's so much to do & see up there. Well our original plan was to go last Saturday but I was not feeling well at all & pretty much just slept the day away. Well now that this Saturday is my last Saturday in Germany for about a year it's now or never :) Hopefully this venturing out won't send me into preterm labor or anything since I'm supposed to be on bed rest. But seriously, I'm going nuts! I was just telling my mom yesterday that I always thought if I ever got the chance to not do anything but sit on the couch I'd love it. I was SO wrong.

I guess Nathan says Ramstein base itself is like your home away from America- it even has a Chili's restaurant & I think I read that it has a Macaroni Grill too. I love experiencing the German culture as much as the next American, that includes their food too, but sometimes you just really want what you can't have! Plus, Germans are total carnivores lol. Everything has meat in it & we all know how much little John likes it when mommy eats meat... :-/

There's a huge castle up there too & it's just 2,50 euros per person & you get to roam around on your own! I'm excited to do that & to get the classic tourist pictures.

Well, if everything goes the way I'm planning, John should be here March 14th! That's 2 weeks before his due date. I've never wanted to be induced but the Army has a way of always throwing a kink into our plans. A lot of people think that since as wives of military members we "signed up" for whatever hardships accompany that. This is one of the most ignorant statements I've ever heard. Sure maybe some wives met & married their husbands before they were military but a lot did not. I fall into the later category. Either way, what we deal with is hard & until you've been in my shoes, spewing your your negative opinions about me choosing to induce 2 weeks ahead so that my husband can be present for the birth of our first child is not needed. Okay, hormonal rant over!

My mom has been so super helpful in getting things organized over in the states for me. She even took the liberty of calling her previous ob/gyn & explaining our circumstances to him & he cleared some room in his schedule to meet with me on the 20th. So hopefully he'll be able to set up the induction date & we'll be good to go! I'm just hoping John decides to keep turning himself into position. He's been transverse for quite some time & seems to be quite content there.

Anyway, I think I'm going venture off my chair now to get myself ready for the day :)
