Our home in Germany :)

A picture post just as I promised :)

Picking up our Jeep in Bremerhaven- 6 hours away from where we're stationed. It was a fun little journey across Germany. The port was beautiful!

Part of the front patio area. Germans are very into their yards & gardening.

Just the entry way

The stairs leading up to our portion of the house- it was entertaining to watch the movers a week later  hauling our sectional couch & king sized mattress, headboard & footboard up these NARROW stairs. They deserved a medal for not damaging anything!

The view from the kitchen. When you walk in the door leading to our part of  the house the kitchen is just off to the right and the living room is directly in front of you.

Some of the living room area.

The kitchen. The hardest thing to get used to are the sizes of the appliances. The freezer is an ice box inside the fridge. And large cookie sheets don't fit in the oven. Also in Germany they don't use garbage disposals. They have an area in the backyard for food dump.

The only closet like space. This is where we store all of our boxes for different things. When Nathan & I married he insisted on the boxes for everything we bought. I thought he was ridiculous but when it came time to move it proved to be a lifesaver!

The view from the bathroom door. The master bedroom is off to the left & the nursery is off to the right.

I originally thought all tile was really cool until it came time to clean. Now, I'm not such a fan lol.

Laundry room door & the double sinks. I do love having two sinks! I've decided when we go back to the states & build our house, our master bathroom will definitely have two vanities :)

Remember how German kitchen appliances are small? Well so are their washers & dryers! The cycles also take FOREVER.

The cute little dryer. The Army supplies you with the washer & dryer. We got lucky & got brand new ones.  I also feel lucky that this is a modern style. The usual styles have trays of water that collect at the bottom of the washer & dryer and you have to empty them :-/ I can't imagine having to do that EVERY time I did laundry.

The nursery :) We still need a few things but it's coming together.

Our makeshift closet... Germans also don't have closets like we do in America. It explains why their furniture is so massive & sturdy though. Since I'm going back to the states next week & staying there while Nathan is deployed we're holding off on buying a dresser & armoire for clothing. I just really wanted to feel like we were trying to organize as best as we could so we invested in plastic closets for the time being. There's one in our room too lol.

Another shot of the bathroom.

Part of the master bedroom. The furnished pictures will have to come later. These are before the movers brought any of our stuff.

And another view :)

Well those are the pictures I have for now of our living space. I'm still trying to get things as organized as I can but being on bed rest puts a damper on that. Hopefully this weekend Nathan can help get things in order before we leave & I can post pictures of everything furnished & clean!
