Lily

This past Monday, we added to our family! 

Nathan & I had a deal that he could choose the breed of dog we'd get when we got our place after Germany. When we were first married, we bought the prettiest black lab, Bella. Unfortunately, she didn't come from a good place & once I got pregnant with John, she lost her marbles & started getting really vicious towards me, and other women and children. Needless to say, we couldn't keep her....

Nathan took the kids out on Monday because the night before I had a, what I like to call, "MG moment", where basically my muscles quit working in the middle of something important, such as walking. On stairs. Anyway, I'm totally fine now, but Monday and Tuesday were rough. 

I get a few text messages from Nathan on Monday & can see he's at Petland {I guess they have a contract with the Humane Society?}. He texts me pictures of Ellie with this adorable l i t t l e 3 month old English Mastiff puppy. They were best buds as soon as they saw each other, how could I possibly say no?!

We named her Lily & are so glad she's ours! She's feisty, but gentle. A quick learner and obedient. She even takes her meds just fine-- she has a bit of a cough and intestinal bug. But after 24 hours of antibiotics is as good as new. 

We sure do love her! It's a toss up which kid loves her more ;)

mid cough... poor girl. it was a nasty sounding cough. glad she's feeling better now!
