April 18th was Nathan & I's 3rd wedding anniversary! Nathan had the day off since it was Easter weekend {I think our anniversary was on a Friday}, so we just spent the day together as a family. We went on a bike ride & had a nice little picnic lunch. In the afternoon we did some shopping & wandering around town. Then that night we went to our favorite place to eat, Enzo's.

| at the top of the hill in sachsen. we live in the cluster of houses in the far left of the picture, by the open field. biking up this hill is NOT easy!! |
| I really love all the decorations the towns around here put up for Easter. Colorful & cute! |
On our way home from dinner, we took a very scenic route-- actually it was completely out of the way lol. But, Nathan & I really love finding little location gems for biking, picnics, pictures, etc. We were in for some good thunderstorms that night & the sky was awesome!!
So fast forward a few days, Easter. Once we got home, we made a picnic lunch, packed it up in a backpack & biked a couple miles to a spot that we had found on Saturday. My intentions to take good Easter portraits of John & Ellie failed miserably because John refused to sit still. I should've known... we were outside, next a creek. So, just enjoy some candids :)

| Ellie has been out-eating John recently! she ate that whole sub & most of the apple, plus a fruit/veggie pouch. |
| picture perfect day we had! |
| I love the back of baby heads lol, wispy hair is so adorable |
| Nathan had taken John down to the creek so he could splash some water around with his hands, but John decided to step into the creek. hence his wet pants. Anyway, to make him stop crying, we brought out the candy. Unlike most children, John chose to throw his candy to the fish. |
| showing mama his dandelion- he had fun throwing those in the creek too :) |
| I've decided I really like using wide angles for candid shots of kids! It gives a fun, whimsical feel. This lens has too much vignetting though for my taste. |
| we just love our little girl! |
| this one is for the scrapbook/ellie's 11 month photo... |
| She had a great time tasting flowers & sticks. |
| nap time-- not happy campers at all! |
We are so lucky to have each other. We are so blessed with two beautiful, healthy & happy kids. It really was a great week to reflect on ourselves, how far we've come, where we're headed & to give Thanks to our Savior for everything.
Well, thats all for now! I have more photos that I'm working on so maybe they'll be uploaded soon. I'm thinking that one of these pictures will just have to do for Ellie's 11 month photo ha.
I don't know what you mean about not getting some good Easter shots because these are beautiful! They capture how adorable your babies are and how much joy your family has. Thanks for always posting things that make me feel so happy to read and see!
