Into the Woods, Into the Woods...!

Its been a little while since I've posted, sorry great grandparents! 

Saturday was a gorgeous day here in our neck of the woods, so we went on a 5 mile hike on some walking trails through the forest. Before we had decided to go to the trails, we started walking around our neighborhood, and John had a blast running free in the fields & going down to the creek. He was particularly amused when Nathan jumped from one side of the creek to the other. Luckily, he didn't try to copy Nathan! 

Miss Ellie loves relaxing in the stroller-- she was more than happy to just be pushed around :)

Spring is here! Everything is blooming & looking oh-so-beautiful!

 These next pictures until the end are of the trails. Everything before was around our neighborhood :)

John LOVES rocks. He likes to carry them, put them in his pockets, throw them, lick them etc. He was so excited to see the first little path was gravel.

 Logs.... the trees are SO tall.

He insisted on carrying old yeller (his blanket) & ended up tripping a lot. Eventually he gave it up.

This little area is so gorgeous.... I'm taking the kids back there this weekend when I'll have Nathan's help to do Ellie's 10 month pictures & John's 2 year pictures. SUPER EXCITED!

My first attempt at a deliberate sun flare through trees. 

John was such a trooper!! He walked/ran 4.5 out of the 5 miles! We thought he deserved a treat, so once we loaded everyone back up in the Jeep, we drove to base to get some ice cream cones at Burger King.
