Last German Christmas

This year is going to be our last Christmas in Germany-- that, I AM sad about! Christmas time over here is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!

We are going to hit up all the Christmas Markets we can this year-- definitely Nurnberg, Munchen & Ansbach. Nathan mentioned Berlin, but that one may be hard to swing unless we get a hotel for the night. We'll see. It would be soo awesome!

Anyway, there are always local vendors at the PX selling their stuff, so on Saturday morning, Nathan took John out while I stayed home with Ellie since she was napping & he came home with a pretty Christmas decoration from one of the vendors :) I had had my eye on it for a few weeks so I was excited!

Naturally, since I just purchased a new lens {Canon 40mm 2.8} & finally decided to learn all this back focusing button business,  I had to do some test shots!

Here they are!

This lens is fantastic by the way, for indoor places that are snug, like our little flat {as Nathan calls it lol}

So I also learned how to do sky overlays in Photoshop... since this decoration is sitting on a window ledge, and it's always foggy & gloomy in Germany at this time of year, the background was bright white. Perfect for testing out sky overlays :)

When the candles are lit, the pressure change makes the blades at the top spin :)

Sorry for the noise in these next three. It was very dark & I had to crank my ISO.
