Ellie-- 3 Months

Ellie turned 3 months on the 27th! So hard to believe that much time as passed already. She is such a joyful addition to our family. We can't imagine our life without her!

Since I slacked last month, I'll include some stuff from her 2 month update.

Month 2 Photos- Edited with Little Lusker Actions. Stellar for the color photos & Faithful for the black & white.

  • Weighs 12 lbs 2 oz
  • 24 inches long
  • 15 inch head circumference
  • Wears a variety of clothing sizes. She's so long & skinny still. Size 6 month pants are the perfect length but of course are humungous. Her onesies are sizes 0-3 months or 3 months depending on the brand & her sleepers are 6 month, again for the length. Socks & shoes are impossible because she has very long, very skinny feet-- just like her mama!
  • Has beautiful blue eyes still! I hope they stay light.
  • Her dark brown hair is falling out & auburn colored hair is growing in!
  • Wears size 3 diapers. They are huge on her, but she blows out size 2.
  • She takes 3 ml of Prevaicd daily for her Acid Reflux.
  • Overall a very happy & content baby. I don't need to constantly entertain her like I do John. She loves just chilling on our laps or most recently (yesterday lol) the exersaucer.
  • Naps in her swing. Its been broken for the past few weeks so I have a chair set up right by it & I rock her to sleep. The motor should be here today!
  • Usually sleeps through the nights (9pm-6 or 7 am) The past few nights shes woken up a few times. I think she's hitting that brain development time where it's harder to go back to sleep. She's learning to soothe herself instead of using me as a pacifier. I used to let John nurse when he wasn't hungry around this age at night & that resulted in him waking up literally 10-15 times a night. Lesson learned.
  • Fully breastfed, no bottles. This is a big one for me. I think with John I introduced a bottle to him too soon & breast feeding was very, very difficult for us. He'd take a bottle with expressed milk just fine, but nursing was a struggle. I dreaded every single feed from 2 months until 6 months, when he refused to nurse due to me being pregnant. Being over here in Germany has given me the confidence to breastfeed where ever I am. A lot of the time I don't even need to cover because of how fast she feeds (5 minutes!!!) & how good I've gotten at being discreet (loooove nursing shirts!)
  • Hates tummy time. I think this is due to her Acid Reflux.
  • Loves, loves, loves to sit up right! I actually have to use the harness in her swing otherwise she flops over. She's constantly doing little crunches to sit herself up.
  • Loves to talk, smile & giggle. I haven't been able to get a full on belly laugh out of her yet, but I'm trying :)
  • Grabs for her bird toy on her playmat
  • She just noticed her hands yesterday. It was hilarious. She just stared at her fist lol.
  • Loves making spit bubbles & sucking on her hands, shirts & blankets.

I've recently discovered actions for photoshop & photoshop elements! Talk about a time saver! The black & white images are edited with B+W Vintage from Little Lusker Photoshop Actions & the colored photos are edited with Urban Delight from Paint the Moon Photoshop Actions (my favorite, her actions are AWESOME & she has some free ones so you can get a taste of her styles-- check her page out on FB!)

  • I'm slowly compiling photos every month for a cool 1st year collage :) This is the "main" photo for month 3!

i LOVE this photo! it looks like shes laughing pretty hard, but really, she was so excited that she had pulled herself up to a sitting position :)

Our little set up for the time being... until my backdrops & stand get here!! Gotta love the clone tool on Photoshop!
