Church with a 16 month old is pretty much a joke-- especially 9:30am church because that is when he goes down for a morning nap usually. I feel like we don't get to listen to ANYTHING. Nathan is always chasing after him, and I'm always walking the hall with Ellie or feeding her. Anyways, we thought maybe using his monkey backpack leash might make things easier.... (it didn't). We were all ready to go early (WHAT?!) So I took some pics before we left.
(Yes, he's not in a suit because our church is on the upper floor of a furniture store. No A/C here sooo I don't make him suffer!)

| He thought the backpack was cool until he realized it took away his freedom lol |
 |
| Isn't this so sad?! He wanted to go to sleep-- not leave the house! |
These next pictures are Sunday afternoon-- after his nap.

| practicing good oral hygiene (No, this isn't his regular toothbrush. This is a chew toy he got from the WIC office) |
 |
| He loves touching/pulling/tasting my hair-- crazy kid! |

| Experiencing her playmat for the first time! |
We are in a church building with AC and my boys still look exactly like John :) it's okay. They're kiddos!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your Littles are adorable! I'm sorry church is so rough. I honestly hate that age (well, ageS, newborn and 1yr-18mo), too, when it comes to church.
Thank you, I think so too but I'm biased of course lol. Yes, I'm counting down the weeks until John can go into nursery! Then we only have to entertain him for the first hour! He's slowly cutting naps out of his day, but so far definitely needs his morning nap & is usually happy to take that one. Hopefully church will be easier shortly. I think Ellie will be much better when she's older-- she's not high maintenance like John is.
ReplyDeleteWhen Kal was between 14-18 months, church was a nightmare. I basically spent all of church out in the foyer (some sundays I really wondered why i even went because I was in the hall the whole time) I was shouting praises when he turned 18 months. Hang in there lady!
ReplyDeleteIngrid, that's how I feel too! I ask myself every Sunday why we even bother when we're in the halls the whole time. I think he has 6 weeks left-- I can't wait!!
