Ellie turned 1 month old yesterday! Time flies so quickly with two kids... babies! As of last week Ellie weighed in at 9 lbs even fully clothed & diapered lol. She's 80% for weight & 60% in height.
-Sleeps 6 hour stretches at night -- HAPPY MAMA!
-Eats every 3-4 hours during the day.
-Loves being held & loves when Nathan or I wear her in the baby carrier on our chests.
-Can lift her head & turn it when laying on her tummy, even while sleeping.
-Pushes off Nathan or I's chest with her arms & holds herself up to look around.
-Looks at Nathan, John & I in our eyes & smiles.
-Just started coo-ing two days ago; LOVE how precious that is!
-Still not a fan of binkies. We've tried Nuk, MAM, Gumdrop & Avent. She'll take the Avent but not for very long. If she ever takes ones, I think it'll be the Avent; it's the one John likes too!
-Wears 0-3 month clothes. All her newborn things are too short. She's long & skinny!
-Has blue eyes still; can't wait to see what color they end up being.
So, I set up Ellie's photoshoot in Nathan & I's bedroom at the foot of our bed. I used our new comforter as the backdrop; I just pulled it down over our footboard. For the support under her, I took my U shaped pregnancy body pillow & twisted it so that it made a loop then threw one of our minky throw blankets over that & walla! She had a little nest =) Since I was originally going to take her newborn photos in the first week of her life but couldn't due to sickness, I still had some of the props I ordered. She was too long to be swaddled in the lace wrap, so I folded it a couple times & tucked it behind her from her chest down to about her knees. The headband is newborn size & SO BIG still. It kept sliding & coming off. Anyway, we have two huge windows that were to the right of us that I opened wide to let the little sunlight we had (it was 50 degrees & raining) come in. Stupid me left the lights on too for the first half of the photoshoot (I took about 100 photos). They are nasty yellowish lights so I had a hard time correcting that. I really wanted to kick myself for forgetting to turn them off (they were basically directly above where Ellie was...) A lot of the photos I just turned black & white because I couldn't get the coloring to look right even after adjusting the curves & adding a dark blue filter in photoshop & even the ones that look "ok", I'm still not thrilled with. So, friends who know photoshop, if you have tips on fixing yellow lighting, let me know please =)
Doesn't she look sooo thrilled to be wearing this headband? haha

HAHA okay, so I had to stop twice to nurse her to calm her down & this was after our first little nursing session. She was NOT happy to be wrapped in lace & wearing that headband!

Doesn't she have "the look" down pact?!

MEAN MUGGIN'!!!
The rest of the photos are when I realized the dumb lights were on so I turned them off. In my opinion, the lighting is MUCH better on these next photos!
