Baby Bump #2 Update
Saturday, January 25, 2013
1. How Far Along? 22 weeks & 2 days
2. Due Date? May 31, 2013
3. Do you know the gender? a little girl
4. Size of the baby? About the size of a PAPAYA! (10.5 inches) (How Big is Baby?)
5. Total weight gain? Lost that 0.8 lbs I gained last week lol. (no girl scout cookies, that's why!) So, DOWN 25lbs from pre-pregnancy.
6. Maternity Clothes? Depends on the day. I've been sick for the past week so I've just been wearing yoga pants & sweats.
7. Any stretch marks? Nope :)
8. How's the sleep? Total crap! Last week, I forgot to take my anti-anxiety medication in the morning like I have been doing since I started them in June. So, I took it at night. I realized the next day, that I had so much more motivation when I woke up. I was ready to get things done. I decided to continue to take the Zoloft at night before bed. Well, I think that affects my sleep. John has been waking up a ton because the poor little guy is cutting FIVE teeth. So, every time he wakes up, it takes me about an hour+ to fall back asleep. But, waking up feeling motivated & not stressed out is worth it. I guess my body just needs to get used to it.
9. Best moment this week? Seeing our baby girl on ultrasound :)
10. Missing anything? My energy & some conveniences that come from living in America; a garbage disposal, trash pick up, just to name a couple.
11. Baby Movements? Yep! She's laying transverse with her head by my bladder. That's a good time, especially when I cough or sneeze ;)
12. Any cravings? Smoothies. I've been making a couple a day.
13. What makes you sick or queasy? Beef & Chicken. And water too for some reason. I think that being sick has something to do with it though.
14. What pregnancy symptoms are there? Round ligament pain, fatigue, backache, mood swings, forgetfulness, heartburn, acne, frequent headaches, frequent bathroom trips & pregnancy rash (PUPPS), a small varicose vein on my right leg, & out of control hair growth.
15. Any labor signs? Nope.
16. Can you still wear your wedding rings? yes
17. Your mood is...? A little stressed. Nathan is getting ready to go TDY for 40 days. So, it'll just be John & I. I have my drivers test for my German license on Wednesday... hopefully I pass. Their tests are 200 questions! Also annoyed. I'm tired of winter & being sick. Bring on the warm weather already!
18. Looking forward to? Going to church tomorrow. We didn't get to go last week because I was sick in bed with the flu.
On Wednesday, I had my 22 week OB appointment. Things went pretty well. All my test results from last time (Thyroid function) came back fine. So, I'm not losing weight because of my Thyroid, which is good. I'm thinking it's just from chasing after a very active little boy all day & eating small healthy snacks through out the day rather than meals.
At my appointment, we found out that my placenta is laying right across the front of my Uterus, which isn't bad. It just makes for terrible ultrasounds. I was freaking out inside because the doctor spent a good ten minutes measuring the heart & looking at how the blood pumps without saying a word, while looking really disgruntled. I thought something was wrong, but then she explained that she was having a hard time getting a good picture because of my placenta. Which, also explains why the baby's movements aren't as strong as John's were. I've been saying this whole time that baby girl is much more calm & relaxed than John was (who was ALWAYS moving). It turns out that her movements are just muffled so to speak because my placenta absorbs a good amount of movement.
Anyway, the measurements that the doctor could get were good. Baby girl is petite at only a half pound, but everything looks normal & she's heavier than she was at my last appointment so no concerns. I just make small babies I guess! Which, I'm totally okay with. I don't think I could push a big baby out! John was just under 7lbs at birth (he was born a little early at 38weeks & 3days). So I'm thinking this baby will be about that, maybe a little smaller just because John was a pound at this stage. I know these are just estimates & there's really no way of knowing exactly how much they weigh in the womb, but all the estimates seemed to be right on with John.
In Germany, you get ultrasounds at every appointment, so hopefully next month, my uterus will have grown enough that my placenta won't be such an issue for measuring our little miss. Fingers crossed!
I can't believe that in 4 months we'll be a family of 4! This pregnancy is going much quicker than the first pregnancy did.
